'Wasn't happy at the club': Willian opens up on Arsenal exit for the first time[/b]
Recently-departed Arsenal wide-man Willian has, on Monday, provided an insight into the motivation behind his decision to move on.
Corinthians switch
The name of Brazilian international Willian of course took centre stage on the red half of North London in the lead up to last week's transfer deadline.
This came with the 33-year-old, on the back of a fruitless opening to the new campaign, having been widely tipped to move on.
Willian originally linked up with Arsenal in the summer of 2020, putting pen to paper on a 3-year deal after departing London rivals Chelsea as a free agent.
However, to say that his time at the Emirates subsequently proved a disappointment would be putting it lightly.

Across a torrid debut campaign with the Gunners, the veteran wide-man managed just a solitary goal in 25 Premier League appearances, culminating in heavy criticism on the part of the club's supporters.
In turn, it came as little surprise to hear that those in a position of power in the English capital were working hard to move Willian on late last month.
And, with just hours remaining in the summer window, Edu and co. Managed precisely that.
In a true testament to his character, Willian agreed to terminate the remainder of his Arsenal contract, leaving a rumoured £20 million on the table in the process:
'Time was not good'
And, as outlined above, on Monday, the former Chelsea man has opened up his decision to depart North London for the first time.
Speaking in an interview with Gazeta Esportiva after sealing a return to boyhood club Corinthians, Willian was not shy in admitting that his stint with Arsenal was 'not good', with a move back to his home country having emerged as the best option for he and his family alike:
'I really thought a lot, together with my family and close people.'
'Unfortunately, my time at Arsenal was not good, I wasn't happy at the club. I don't need to go into details, but I wasn't happy and I thought returning to Brazil was the better option.'
The Brazilian continued:
'I studied some other opportunities, but I wanted to return to Corinthians, to my home, to be close to my family members. It is the club that projected me to the world. The right moment to return was this.'
