Former Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng has his heart set on Old Trafford as a potential destination this summer, with Manchester United his 'dream' club
Former Bayern Munich centre back Jerome Boateng reportedly wants a move to Manchester United this summer.
According to Calciomercato.it, the 32-year-old is ‘very disappointed’ not to have found a new club following his departure from the Bundesliga champions.
Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, Lazio and Roma are all interested in the German, but Old Trafford would be the ‘dream’ destination for the former Manchester City man.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are close to completing the signing of Raphael Varane, so it is unknown if they would be in the market for another central defender.
There are currently no reports that suggest United are looking to add Boateng to their ranks.

Spain is another option for the defender, with Sport1 reporting talks have taken place with Sevilla, who finished fourth in La Liga last season.
Boateng started his career with Hertha Berlin before moving to Hamburger, where he earned his first senior international call up.
After spending a singular season in the Premier League at Man City, he joined Bayern Munich, where he stayed for ten years.
Boateng played for Man City over a decade ago
During his time at the Allianz Arena, his honours included two Champions Leagues, nine Bundesligas, five DFB Pokals and two FIFA Club World Cups.
Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic stated the decision not to offer Boateng a new contract was made by the club management and the coach.
The 2014 World Cup winner is reported to have been understanding of this stance.
David Alaba also left Munich this summer after his contract expired too, with the Austrian joining Real Madrid.
