230 pass exams for therapists

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday announced that 230 out of 542 passed the Physical and Occupational Therapists Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the cities of Manila and Cebu in January 2010.
The successful physical therapist examinees who garnered the ten highest places are:
1) Sanchia Selene Garcia Estavillo, University of Santo Tomas, 82.10; 2) Cresilda Tejano Abella, de la Salle University-Dasmariñas Health Sciences and Elena Yu Vasco, Emilio Aguinaldo College-Mmanila, 81.00; 3) Maricar Vivar Magcaling, University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, 80.95; 4) Robinson Liwanag Villaroya, Emilio Aguinaldo College-Manila, 80.90; 5) Dorothy Joyce de Chavez Mojica, University of the Philippines-Manila, 80.65; 6) Mary Grace Agravante Lantin, Lyceum of Batangas, 80.55; 7) Aileen Luna Abistado, de la Salle University-Dasmariñas Health Sciences, 80.20; 8) Beverly Heidel Arriola Jiongco, University of the Philippines-Manila, 80.00; 9) Ilona Valerie Rodriguez Vidamo, University of the Philippines-Manila, 79.70; and 10) Pedro Sending Blance Jr., Universidad de Santa Isabel, 79.65.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be from February 5, 2010 to February 19, 2010.
Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013.
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the recent examinations as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on February 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the afternoon at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
Registration for membership with the Philippine Physical Therapy Association, Inc. (PPTA) and Occupational Therapy Association of the Philippines, Inc. (OTAP) will take place after registration as a professional with the Board and the Commission.
The Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy who gave the examinations is composed of chairman Dr. Reynaldo R. Rey-Matias and members Raul G. Agustin, Marylynn B. Querouz and Bernadette M. Reyes.

13 Agosto 2012, 11:58 p.m. - NAPANATILI ng Unibersidad ang puwesto nito bilang second top-performing school sa Physical Therapy (PT) licensure examinations, habang bahagyang tumaas ang passing rate nito sa Occupational Therapy (OT) board exams.
Ayon sa datos mula sa Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ,muling pumangalawa ang UST sa Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) sa PT board exams, matapos itong magtala ng 88.76 porsiyentong passing rate. Sa 89 na Tomasinong kumuha ng pagsusulit, 79 sa kanila ang pumasa.
Muling kinilala ng PRC ang PLM na top-performing school matapos itong magtala ng 97.26 porsiyento (71 sa 73), mas mababa sa iskor nito noong 2011 na 100 porsiyento matapos pumasa lahat ng 60 na kumuha ng nasabing licensure exams.
Ang porsiyentong nakamit ng UST ay mas mataas kumpara noong nakaraang taon, matapos itong magtala ng 86.08 porsiyentong passing rate, o 68 na pumasa mula sa 79 na kumuha ng pagsusulit.
Samantala, dalawang Tomasino lamang ang nakapasok sa top 10 list of passers sa pagsusulit sa PT, mas mababa kaysa sa apat noong 2011.
Pinangunahan ni Maxine Therese Redulla na nasa ikaanim na puwesto ang mga bagong Tomasinong physical therapists matapos makakuha ng 83.85 porsiyento, habang lumapag naman sa ikawalong puwesto si Lemuel Lim (83.75 porsiyento).
Noong nakaraang taon, nakuha ng UST ang ikalawa, ikalima, ikaanim, at ikasiyam na puwesto sa PT board exams.

Thomasian tops PT board exams
07 February 2013, 12:27 a.m. - THE UNIVERSITY emerged as the only top-performing school in the recent physical therapy (PT) licensure exams, with a Thomasian taking the No. 1 spot, results from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) showed.
UST registered a 93.33-percent passing rate in the "off-season" PT board exams, with 14 passers out of 15 examinees. Four were first-time examinees, including the topnotcher.
This year’s passing rate was better than last year’s 84.62-percent, in which 11 out of 13 Thomasians made the cut. UST was named the second top-performing school last year.
This year, only UST met the requirements set by PRC to be included in the roster of top-performing schools. The commission requires schools to obtain a minimum passing rate of 80 percent and at least 15 examinees in the February board exams to be included in the list.
UST alumna Mary Kathleen Samarista led the newly registered physical therapists, garnering a score of 86.95 percent. Samarista bested Barbara Jane Auson of University of Perpetual Help-Laguna and Hyacinty Rosario Callao of Silliman University, who took the second and third places, respectively.
This year’s national passing rate slid to 49.22 percent or 285 passers out of 579 examinees, from last year’s 50.49 percent or 308 passers out of 610 examinees
Meanwhile, UST’s passing rate in the occupational therapy (OT) board exams went up to 56.25 percent, with 18 out of 32 Thomasians passing the test. In 2012, 18 out of 38 Thomasian examinees made the cut, equivalent to a 47.37-percent passing rate.
The national passing rate for occupational therapists stood at 50 percent, as half of the 64 examinees nationwide passed the test. Last year, only 27 out of 72 examinees passed the test, or a national passing rate of 37.50 percent.

Pinangunahan nina Phoebe Dawn Evangelista at Jerome Delfin Paguyo ang limang Tomasino sa top 10 ng PT boards matapos parehong makamit ang unang pwesto ng may 86-porsiyentong marka. Noong nakaraang taon, dalawang Tomasino ang napabilang sa top 10.
Ayon sa datos mula sa Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), nagtala ng 95.74-porsiyentong passing rate ang UST ngayong taon. Sa 47 na Tomasino na kumuha ng pagsusulit, 45 ang pumasa. Mas mataas ito kumpara sa 88.76-porsiyentong passing rate noong 2012.

Ayon sa pamantayan ng PRC, kailangang makapagtala ang isang paaralan ng 80-porsiyentong passing rate ng may minimum na 50 na mag-aaral na kukuha ng pagsusulit bago ito mapasama sa listahan ng mga top-performing schools.
